the three finer spirits and seven baser instincts souls

"三魂七魄" is finally finished. The main idea for this painting is based on an ancient Chinese religious theory (which is also relevant to medicine): the concept of three finer spirits and seven baser instincts that motivate every human being. (魂means positive spirit, whereas 魄 is negative).           

The primary three are human shaped with red aurora, and the other seven are animalistic in appearance, which represents seven flaws. Of course, every matter has two sides; the baser seven also have useful functions, such as guarding against evil.
